And we're off
Huzza! I've finally started my blog! I had every expectation to launch on May 1st so I could join in with #WeblogPoMo2024 but alas I decided to spend the last two weeks faffing around trying out different blogging platforms, choosing colours, building themes and deciding on what to call it. As you can see, despite all the fantastic names I considered, I settled on the imaginatively titled "Gareth's Blog" which really is imaginative because my name is Bernard. Joking of course, it's actually Ian.
I decided to start a blog because I find it fun. People say you should
write for yourself and not for other people. However, it makes me happy
writing for other people so in a way I am writing for
myself.
If you've read the description of my blog you'll see
that I plan to cover all manner of exciting topics. One day I may be
posting about my favourite car colours and the next I may give my
thoughts on Macbeth (ok, that one's highly unlikely). It also reminds me
of the early 00s when blogs and personal websites were all the rage and
when it truly felt magical to publish something on to the World Wide Web
for millions of people to see... over a laboriously slow dial up
connection of course.
I've got loads of thoughts and ideas I am looking forward to sharing. I just hope I avoid the blogger's curse with all the great ideas suddenly drying up! I'll just post about whatever random thoughts I have so I should hopefully have no shortage of things to talk about!
I do hope you'll follow along and subscribe by RSS and all that jazz. You can like my posts by clicking the lurrrrve heart and you can also, should you want, reply to me by email.
